Position Description: The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) is recruiting for a Senior Epidemiologist to manage the Built Environment Section, a newly formed section, bringing together activities addressing childhood lead poisoning prevention, radon exposure prevention, built environment policy review, ambient air quality, and climate and health.

In this position you will manage staff and budget allocations, ensuring performance expectations and measures are met, and continually evaluating results to improve program performance.

Some of what you’ll enjoy doing:

• Develop and implement tactical and strategic plans for the Built Environment Section.

• Provide high-level scientific advice to help assure that policies and programs are developed using the best available science.

• Work with schools, Educational Service Districts, Local Health Jurisdictions, the public health lab and other partners to test water for lead in 250 public elementary schools a year.
