Position Description: The Programs Director is accountable for the content, member participation and economics of a specific product offering. Core Responsibilities: Business Strategy and Operations • Responsible for P&L management and overall profitability of the entire business unit/product offering. • In partnership with The Academy’s management team, develops, maintains, and executes a business unit strategic plan. Plan should be updated on a quarterly basis. • Works with executive team to analyze data, identify market trends, and tailor product development activities to capitalize on opportunities. • Collaborates with finance leader and IT to report and aggregate business unit data. • Prepares business unit reviews and analyses to support planning discussions. • Partners with health system sales teams, industry sales teams and marketing to develop successful sales plans, campaigns, programs and promotions to maximize member participation. o Tracks and reports on member participation. o Drives value, new members, and renewals through content development efforts. • Manages the day-to-day operations of the business unit. • Monitors the business unit’s budget. o Adjusts and proposes solutions in cases of budget variances or deviations • Grows existing revenue streams and relationships. • Interacts with key accounts and influencers on both health system and industry side. • Leads the discussions on priorities and direction setting for the business unit. • Coordinates with meeting services on expenses, meeting locations and logistics. • Adheres to business unit timelines.

Management of the Unit’s Programming Content • Develops a comprehensive program of interactive and incisive educational content • Conducts research on contemporary topics to remain current on industry developments and trends • Collaborates across departments to share ideas and insights on industry thought leadership • Identifies and recruits members, industry thought leaders, and outside experts to develop and present educational material. Marketing In partnership with the marketing lead/manager, responsible for developing a marketing program for the Business Unit. • Leads in the development, with internal marketing team, a targeted marketing program/plan for the business unit • Helps in develop and oversee the development of business unit’s internal and external communication (e.g. industry newsletter; other regular leadership communication, and client proposals). Miscellaneous • Other duties as assigned. Ideal candidates will have: • Entrepreneurial thinking and continuous improvement mentality • Project management expertise required • Proven ability to communicate effectively with all organizational levels, including high level executives • Strong knowledge of the healthcare industry required • Advance proficiency with Microsoft Office required • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to develop and present educational content • Persistent creativity in the conduct of their work that will guarantee market differentiation • Experience in presenting information to executive teams and facilitating group discussions • Proven success establishing credibility with senior executives internally and externally and the ability to inspire our members • Ability to identify developing evolving critical needs within membership base

Qualifications: Education and Experience: • A minimum of 1-3 years experience in the healthcare industry preferred; • Master’s degree (MPH, MHA, or MBA) required; • Relevant experience in educational or other content development and delivery preferred.

Work and Travel Requirements: • Air travel and overnight stays will be required. Travel involves attendance at selected meetings, and site visits and may comprise approximately 20-25% of time. • This is an exempt position and may require more than 40 hours per week to accomplish duties assigned. In addition, there will be times when night and weekend work will be required. A Forum Director is required to work the number of hours and days necessary to accomplish the assigned tasks. There is flexibility in the work schedule and leave policy to offset some of the inconvenience.
