Position Description: Smith & Lehmann Consulting is currently hiring a Senior Research Associate or Research Associate (DOE) with expertise in qualitative data collection and analysis. This position provides the opportunity to work with terrific nonprofit and government clients in a wide range of sectors. This position will be 75%-100% time and requires residence in Colorado or Nebraska.

Job Description: • Support senior evaluators' data collection activities • Attend multiple weekly meetings • Qualitative data collection as needed (focus groups/qualitative interviews/participatory research) • Transcribing recorded interviews/focus groups • Meeting facilitation • Maintaining qualitative database • NVIVO coding & analysis of data from multiple sources • Maintain timeline of key events & findings • Report writing • Additional duties as needed to support projects

Salary and position title DOE. This position is based in Colorado or Nebraska (your choice) and may require travel up to 50% time. Most of our employees work from home. Telecommuting from another state is not possible for this position.

Qualifications: Required skills and experience: • Qualitative protocol development/data collection expertise • Expertise in qualitative coding & analysis • Excellent time management and organizational skills • Ability to meet deadlines and be responsive to rapidly changing demands • Independent, self-directed worker • Experience and comfort with diverse populations (sexual orientation, ethnic, religious, immigrant) • Discretion and sensitivity to working with a wide range of stakeholders on politically sensitive topics • Strong written and oral communication skills

Desired skills and experience: • Experience with NVIVO (or similar qualitative analysis software) • Master's Degree in a social sciences field preferred • Multiple language capacity a plus • Project management skills and interest
