Position Description: The Academy is currently looking for a leader to fill its Associate Forum Director role, a key member of The Academy’s Education Services Team.

Job Summary: The Associate Forum Director role is designed to foster the development of master’s –prepared individual committed to advancing a career in healthcare. This 18-month program is intended to provide enrichment & transfer of learning between the completion of the Associate Forum Director’s master’s degree and the next position in health services. Under the guidance and supervision of the Senior Vice President, Educational Services, and the Senior Forum Director. This position is tailored to match the needs and interests of the individual and the business priorities of The Academy.

The Associate Forum Director will have exposure to all levels of The Academy management, allowing this role to gain an applied understanding the organization, financing and delivery of health services and the strategic and tactical operations of The Academy through oversight of administrative tasks, content development, individual and other cross functional team based projects.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Program Development and Management: under the direction of the Senior Forum Director & SVP, Educational Services the Associate Forum Director will: • Develop a recognized expertise in specific topical areas related to member top priorities by conducting research on contemporary topics to establish an expertise on industry developments and trends; • Assist with the development of member educational programming and related content targeted for senior executives and leaders of the largest health systems; • Prepare for content development calls by maintaining and prioritizing a list of ideas for educational programming topics and conducting background research including consulting with other Educational Service team members; • Engage with members, industry thought leaders, and The Academy team to identify contemporary and innovative ideas for educational programming and recruit experts to present content for their respective Forums/Leadership Development Programs; • Develop programming content and materials, presentations or outlines as necessary to support educational program objectives. • Collaborate with Meeting Services staff to integrate programming and meeting logistics requirement to ensure a world class educational experience for The Academy members; • Track and maintain active forum membership lists and records of membership including call notes; • Coordinate with Forum Director and Health System Relations Team on member recruitment; • Design and implement “Quick Hitting Best Practices” surveys of members on topics of interest, and prepare executive findings reports based on survey results; • Manage the Academy’s Educational Credits application process in accordance with relevant guidelines and policies; • Provide administrative support to forums and programs including scheduling conference calls with members.

Education Services Coordination: under the direction of the SVP, Educational Services, the Associate Forum Director will: • Conduct administrative process improvement; content quality management; customer service (presents and projects professional image & interaction with all levels of internal staff as well as external visitors, and members health systems & industries C-suite executives and board members); • Gather, assemble and analyze information to prepare reports including meeting evaluation forms and summary reports, correspondence and memoranda as directed. May handle special projects and execute research and data analysis tasks. Produces, formats, edits and/or corrects drafts or final documents, slides, or other documentation using appropriate word processing, spreadsheet, database, or graphics software; • Arrange weekly Educational Services team meetings, bi-weekly sales coordination calls, group meetings and special events, ensuring all necessary information is available for discussion. • Support to the Senior Vice President, Educational Services. This includes calendar management, including scheduling conference calls, setting up meetings, taking meeting notes and coordinating expense reimbursement; • Collaborate and communicate effectively across The Academy and the Educational Services team; • Collaborate with leadership of The Academy’s other services lines (e.g., Fellowship Programs, Research and Health Policy) on identifying and shaping appropriate programs for each respective service line based upon insights gathered from members and other industry thought leaders.

Qualifications: Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: • Proactive, self-motivated professional with ability to work independently, with urgency, and thrive in an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented business environment; • Strong written and verbal communication skills with all organizational levels, including high level executives; • Ability to manage multiple projects and able to adjust to changing priorities; • Must be organized, detailed oriented, and flexible; • Knowledge of the healthcare industry; • Proficient in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Education/Experience: • Master’s degree required; • Former leadership roles and 1-2 years of previous project coordination experience preferred.

Work and Travel Requirements: • Air travel and overnight stays will be required. Travel involves attendance at selected meetings and may comprise approximately 20-25% of time. • This is an exempt position and may require more than 40 hours per week to accomplish duties assigned. In addition, there will be times when night and weekend work will be required. An Associate Forum Director is required to work the number of hours and days necessary to accomplish the assigned tasks. There is flexibility in the work schedule and leave policy to offset some of the inconvenience.
