Position Description: An outstanding scientist using biochemical, cellular, immunological and/or genetic-genomic approaches to investigate diseases caused by eukaryotic pathogens is sought for a tenure/tenure-track position in the Department of Global Health at the University of South Florida. This position is funded by a competitive state-supported salary (0.75FTE), as well as a generous start-up package. A PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in a biomedical or biological discipline and postdoctoral experience is required. Evidence of a competitive, independent research program is required for candidates at the Assistant Professor level. Candidates at the Associate/Full Professor level are expected to have an established, extramurally, federally funded research program. A strong track record of peer-reviewed publications and evidence of potential for teaching and mentorship are also required. The successful applicant will join an active and well-funded collaborative group of faculty in Global Health working on diverse protozoan and metazoan pathogens responsible for significant human disease. The position will include laboratory space in a state of the art research building (opened in 2007), with an ABSL2, ACL2 insectary, and select agent certified BSL3 and ABSL3 facilities.
