Position Description: Working under direct supervision of the Project Director (PD) and alongside other project field staff, the Community Research Assistant will support research activities for the PULSE study, a three year field based project examining the cardiac health of 250 homeless women in San Francisco.

Primary responsibilities for this position will include coordination and accompanying participants to echocardiogram and MRI/MRA visits at external locations (ZSFG, UCSF at China Basin), including transportation coordination, scheduling, visit execution and follow-up.

**Depending on incumbent’s availability, primary responsibilities will also include conducting monthly follow-up visits, executing project assessments by administering quantitative study interviews directly to participants, facilitating their completion of computer-based assessments and other visit procedures as directed by the study protocol and PD**

Secondary responsibilities may include: scheduling study subjects and assistance in retention activates; assist with collection and shipment of samples; attendance at team meetings; other activities as requested by the PD.

Qualifications: Required Qualifications: • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Windows • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills; and excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a diverse team and with individuals of diverse backgrounds • Flexible, energetic and adaptable attitude • Attention to detail, with complete and thorough follow-up of assigned tasks • Must be willing to travel throughout the SF community • Knowledgeable of issues experienced by vulnerable and marginalized populations

Preferred Qualifications: • Completion of a bachelor’s degree or pursuing a graduate degree in public health, social work, nursing or related field • Previous experience with community based research or outreach, either paid or volunteer • Previous experience working with vulnerable populations, directly face-to- face with individuals • Interest in healthcare, women’s health, homelessness, health disparities and/or public health
