Seeking a research analyst to join the Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology Branch (OEEB) of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), whose mission is to identify occupational and environmental causes of cancer. This position involves assisting multiple investigators on all aspects of national and international epidemiologic research studies of both occupational, environmental and genetic risk factors, including study design (developing protocol documents, specimen handling procedures), management (data coding and cleaning, specimen tracking, human subjects’ approvals), analysis (statistical analysis of epidemiologic and laboratory data), and preparation of reports for presentation or publication.

A master’s degree in epidemiology, public health (or a related field), or comparable work experience is required. The position will involve on-the-job training in epidemiologic cancer analyses and is suited for someone with <4 years experience post-master’s degree. Experience with statistical software applications used in public health research is a must; please indicate relevant software applications and degrees of competency. Job requires communication and organizational abilities, attention to detail, initiative, and an aptitude for multi-tasking. Working experience in implementing and interpreting results from multivariable statistical models of public health data (linear, logistic, conditional and polytomous logistic, Cox, and Poisson regression) is also strongly preferred. Knowledge of occupational and environmental exposure assessment and implementation into epidemiologic studies will be considered a major asset.
