Position Description: Overview: The Clinical Support Coordinator is assigned to the Health Promotion and Healthcare Quality Improvement (HPHQI) Section of the STD Control Branch. Under the direction of the Woman’s, Adolescent, and Correctional Health Unit Chief, the Clinical Support Coordinator will coordinate and implement healthcare quality improvement (QI) efforts and the evaluation of these efforts within Fresno County. Programmatic duties, targeted to priority healthcare provider networks, will include using skills as an experienced health education professional to conduct public health detailing visits to offer education on best practices related to sexual and reproductive healthcare services; QI project coordination and management support; and clinical quality improvement coaching/technical assistance (TA). Evaluation activities will include conducting key informant interviews, administering surveys, and abstracting patient medical records. Additionally, this position will work with local community- based organizations and partners at Essential Access Health to support the expansion of accessible and quality sexual and reproductive health services for at-risk populations in the Central Valley through broad-based provider and community outreach, education, technical assistance and scale-up of training opportunities and health promotion activities.

This position will play a supportive role in statewide public health STD control efforts by using good judgement in selecting methods to help ensure that sexual and reproductive healthcare services for women and youth in Fresno County and the surrounding Central Valley are available in diverse clinic settings and represent best practices.

Please Note: The funding for this full time contract position ends on December 31, 2018. The contract may renew and is contingent on renewed funding.

Qualifications: Required Qualifications: • BA/BS degree and three to five years of work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience • Valid California Driver License and insurance • At least one year of experience in project coordination, or development and management of public health programs • At least six months of experience in clinical quality assurance and/or quality improvement, either as a participant or project coordinator • At least six months of experience working within a health clinic, hospital, or other clinical setting • Proficiency using Microsoft Office 2010, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Experience providing technical assistance or conducting trainings • Experience collaborating with outside stakeholders of various professional levels in a professional and effective manner • Experience exercising initiative, work ethic, and self-motivation • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English • Ability to reason and problem-solve analytically, logically, and creatively • Ability to juggle multiple priorities, effectively meet deliverables for multiple projects, and work well under pressure • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Excellent organizational and time- management skills • Ability to travel frequently around the Fresno and Central Valley area, with occasional travel to other parts of the state

Preferred Qualifications • Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) • Experience conducting standardized surveys, key informant interviews, or other data collection tools to support formal evaluation • Experience in quantitative data collection and/or analysis • Experience in qualitative data collection, including conducting focus groups, and/or analysis • Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, and policies of the State of California pertaining to the provision of sexual health clinical services • Experience collaborating with outside stakeholders of various professional levels in a professional and effective manner • Experience with public speaking, including giving professional presentations • Skills in group facilitation, diplomacy, and negotiation
