Position Description: Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is seeking candidates for a 9.5 month non tenure-track faculty position in public health practice to commence on or about August 1, 2018, although a Spring semester 2018 start can also be considered. The faculty member will become a member of Population Health Sciences, a multidisciplinary department, expected to see significant growth in the coming years.

Qualifications: All applicants must have a doctoral degree in a public health discipline or a doctoral level degree in a closely related field, preferably paired with a Master of Public Health (MPH). We are seeking individuals with appropriate training and practice-based expertise in public health, particularly those with experience in intervention development and dissemination or implementation science, public health management and leadership theory, organizational behavior, or program evaluation methodology. Preference will be given to candidates with population/public health practice or research interests that complement existing areas of research within the Population Health Sciences Department or at the College. Candidates may have the opportunity to develop or maintain an internal or external practice site with capacity to train students as public health practitioners. Candidates should have a commitment to teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Expected teaching responsibilities will primarily support the Public Health program and will include courses in program implementation, program evaluation, and advanced/graduate electives in the candidate’s area of expertise.

Founded in 1881, Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) is a private, independent institution committed to the advancement of healthcare. The historic campus is rapidly growing in degree programs offered, facilities, and faculty specializations. The College has academic programs and research activities spanning the full spectrum of pharmacy and health sciences from drug discovery to patient care. Students pursue a wide range of career pathways in health related fields through undergraduate and graduate programs in pharmacy, biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences, laboratory diagnostics, and health outcomes research. Approximately 1,300 students are enrolled at the College’s main campus located in the heart of the Capital District in Albany, New York, and approximately 200 students are enrolled at the satellite campus in Colchester, Vermont.
