Position Description: Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is seeking candidates for a 9.5 month, tenure-track faculty position in Epidemiology to commence on or about August 1, 2018, although a Spring semester 2018 start can also be considered. The candidate will become a member of Population Health Sciences, a multidisciplinary department which is expected to see significant growth in the coming years.

Qualifications: All applicants must have a Ph.D. in Epidemiology, DrPH with a specialization in Epidemiology, or equivalent academic credentials. Applicants should have strong statistical programming skills, an appropriate publication record, and a research plan for securing extramural funding. Preference will be given to candidates with population based research interests that complement existing areas of research at the college. Candidates should have a commitment to teaching general public health and epidemiology courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as mentoring and advising both undergraduate and graduate students. Expected teaching responsibilities will primarily support the Public Health program and will include introductory and advanced epidemiology, research methods, and advanced/graduate electives in the candidate’s area of expertise.

Founded in 1881, Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) is a private, independent institution committed to the advancement of healthcare. The historic campus is rapidly growing in degree programs offered, facilities, and faculty specializations. The College has academic programs and research activities spanning the full spectrum of pharmacy and health sciences from drug discovery to patient care. Students pursue a wide range of career pathways in health related fields through undergraduate and graduate programs in pharmacy, biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences, laboratory diagnostics, and health outcomes research. Approximately 1,300 students are enrolled at the College’s main campus located in the heart of the Capital District in Albany, New York, and approximately 200 students are enrolled at the satellite campus in Colchester, Vermont.
