Position Description: An opportunity is available in the Office of the Associate Director for Science at the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) located at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia.

The research fellow will assist with scientific administration including activities related to the research priorities database, open data access, Healthy People 2020/2030, and evaluation projects.

Activities may include: • Identify and access resource documents; collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data, and interpret data to improve public health administrative processes and programs for injury and violence prevention and control. •Assist with the review of human subject protection involved with injury and violence prevention projects via Institutional Review Board determinations. •Develop and disseminate reports, articles, and presentations on science administration activities and evaluation findings.

This program, administered by ORAU through its contract with the U.S. Department of Energy to manage the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, was established through an interagency agreement between DOE and CDC. The initial appointment is for one year, but may be renewed upon recommendation of CDC contingent on the availability of funds. The participant will receive a monthly stipend commensurate with educational level and experience. Proof of health insurance is required for participation in this program. The appointment is full-time at CDC in the Atlanta, Georgia, area. Participants do not become employees of CDC, DOE or the program administrator, and there are no employment- related benefits.

Qualifications: •Master's degree in public health or related field field earned within the past five years re required

•Experience in public health research and evaluation preferred
