Position Description: A postdoctoral position in the Coordinating Center for the Breast Cancer and the Environment Research Program (BCERP) at the University of Wisconsin- Madison Carbone Cancer Center is available to investigate environmental risk factors for breast cancer. The BCERP consortium includes the Coordinating Center, program staff from the National Institutes of Health, six Windows of Susceptibility (WOS) project teams, three Communications Research teams, and external affiliates at research institutions across the US. The overarching goal of the BCERP Consortium is to support integrated scientific research to enhance our understanding of environmental and genetic factors underlying breast cancer risk throughout the lifespan, with particular focus on the influence of environmental exposures during specific time windows of susceptibility. The postdoctoral candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes the epidemiologists, basic scientists, statisticians, and community partners. The postdoc will provide research strategies and methodological support to BCERP studies and investigators throughout the consortium. This involves utilizing appropriate experimental and statistical models relevant to breast cancer and the environment. The successful applicant will be expected to support existing studies as well as to plan new research projects and collaborative manuscripts. The postdoc will be responsible for developing multidisciplinary research designs and methods, supporting the implementation of research protocols, and disseminating research results by preparing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals and delivering presentations at scientific and community meetings.

Qualifications: Requirements: PhD in Epidemiology, Environmental Health, or related field. Experience in cancer epidemiology beneficial but not required. The successful candidate will have (1) expertise in the area of breast cancer and/or environmental epidemiology; (2) the ability to work both collaboratively and independently within an multidisciplinary team; and (3) excellent written and oral English communication skills.
