Under the supervision of the Senior Development Officer, the intern will support the development team with fundraising concepts and research, social media, marketing, donor appeals, event support, data management, prospect research and additional tasks related to day to day operations as needed. This is an opportunity to learn the key functions of the development department and gain invaluable skills for any future career in nonprofit work. INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support for donor email marketing campaigns • Help in building successful social media campaigns • Research projects (donors, social, trends, marketing, technology, corporations and foundations) • Volunteer outreach and coordination • Creating and distributing online surveys • Assist with donor correspondence • Assist in adding, updating, and cleaning data in Salesforce • Event support • Archive appeals, event collateral, and other relevant department pieces • Assist in creating, sending and reporting on quarterly appeals • Help improve department efficiency • Provide other administrative assistance as needed EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
• Current undergraduate or graduate student with an interest in Nonprofit Development • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint • Familiarity with Salesforce or other donor or CRM database programs a plus • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills • Excellent written and verbal skills • Experience with internet research • Classes or experience in marketing, fundraising, and/or nonprofits, preferred • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency a plus SCHEDULE
We are looking for dedicated individuals willing to commit to approximately a 6-month paid internship on-site during regular business hours (15 - 20 hours per week).
