Position Description: Bright, detail-oriented individual sought to fill an entry-level Research Assistant position. The Research Assistant position provides support to scientific staff by undertaking administrative and project- centric tasks as needed. Experience supporting research-driven organizations is desirable. Position may develop into full- time position.

Some Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Manage interactions with outside agencies and the general public (managing accounts, survey interactions); • Create and manage study interview schedules; • Recruit and interview research participants; • Collect data via interviews, participant observations, surveys, and samples according to established protocols; • Perform data entry, data cleaning, and data management in preparation for analysis; • Conduct basic quantitative and qualitative data analysis; • Manage and maintain research equipment; • Assist in web searches and literature reviews; • Organize and manage hard-copy and electronic data files; • Inventory and maintain supplies and equipment; • Assist in set up and break down of equipment for staff and project meetings and trainings; • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of company, participant, staff, and agency information.

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree; • Effective and professional communication skills, both written and oral; • Experience with data entry and data management; • Strong experience using Microsoft Office product suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint); • Experience with review of published literature and information/data mining using multiple research methods; • Proven track record of efficient and meticulous work product development; • Ability to take direction and work both independently and within a group; • Punctuality; Dependability; • A current state driver's license and access to personal transportation to make office and study related deliveries and pick- ups; • Flexibility in scope of work and ability to handle tasks of differing magnitudes with tight deadlines; • Able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly.

Organization Description: PIRE has a significant national presence in the area of applied science, with funded research projects at its centers on prevention, treatment, and policy research. PIRE scientists and practitioners continually focus on the design and implementation of complex program evaluation strategies and the conduct of research related to health and social issues, and criminal justice. PIRE practitioners and scientists provide training and technical assistance in many health-related areas to states and communities that are attempting to improve public health.
