Type: Full-Time

Location: Dallas/Forth Worth,  TX
Position Description: The JPS Center for Outcomes Research invites applications for an institutionally-funded Assistant Member position (academic equivalent to Assistant Professor). The Center was established in December 2016 with the goal of informing clinical decision-making and improving outcomes for populations that experience substantial barriers to care and health inequalities. Our growing team of collaborative and energetic investigators are provided support and infrastructure for career development. The Center’s research portfolio currently includes pharmacoepidemiology, lifestyle factors and comorbidities, and quality of care in the context of cancer, hepatitis C virus, and HIV outcomes. We are seeking investigators to strengthen existing research and expand into other topics.

The Assistant Member is expected to develop an impactful and sustainable research program that generates publications and funding. Opportunities are available to collaborate with local, national, and international investigators. Available data include an accredited institutional cancer registry, the Hepatitis C Virus Outcomes Registry, the HIV Care and Outcomes Registry, and opportunities for developing new registries. These registries are ideal for publications, preliminary data for funding proposals, and development of ancillary studies with primary data collection. An adjunct faculty appointment is available at the UNT Health Science Center School of Public Health or College of Pharmacy depending on candidate qualifications and interests.

Qualifications: Applicants must have doctoral training (PhD, DrPH, ScD). Competitive candidates will have a strong background or training in epidemiology, biostatistics, health services research, health policy, health education, or related fields. Postdoctoral training or research experience in a clinical setting is desired. Key personal traits include an entrepreneurial mentality and ability to thrive in multidisciplinary research teams. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The start date is negotiable.
