Position Description: UCSF is seeking a full-time Administrative Officer II. The position is assigned to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Control Branch in Richmond, CA.

Under the supervision of the Local Capacity Building Section Chief, this position provides high-level analytical and programmatic support to the Local Capacity Building Section Chief, Disease Intervention Section and related Partner Services and Linkage to Care projects. The Administrative Officer will independently facilitate communication, manage and coordinate travel and meeting/training logistics to support statewide programmatic needs. The incumbent will use professional concepts to apply organizational policies and procedures to oversee a variety of ongoing administrative operational issues, and analyzes and resolves operational problems of moderate scope. Other programmatic support duties will include communication with local health department officials and staff; compilation, editing and formatting of programmatic documents; coordination and tracking of program assignments; planning and coordination of statewide meetings; coordination, reservation and physical set up of conference calls, meetings, webinars, and training, utilizing and installing audio/visual equipment as requested; oversight and coordination of travel arrangements and reimbursements; and assist with coordination of documents to be submitted to CDPH, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other public health organizations for publication, and perform other duties as assigned.

This position will also assist the Administrative Section of the STDCB with various special projects and provide administrative support when requested by Branch management. This position will also provide back-up support to the facilities coordinator for all facility and emergency evacuations procedures at the Richmond campus. This position may require heavy travel within California. Resume and Cover letter required.

Qualifications: Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in related area and one to three years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Califonria driver’s license and proof of valid insurance coverage • Proficiency in MS Office Applications • Proficiency in using online survey tools (I.e. Survey Monkey, Qualtrics) • Working knowledge of common organization- specific and other computer application programs. • Ability to manage website content • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality and adhere to security procedures for electronic data transmission, data storage and handling; maintenance of HIPAA and IRB standards for data security and confidentiality • Ability to learn new medical and technical terminology • Excellent proofreading, editing and writing skills • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, both verbally and in writing. • Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns • Skills in identifying process improvement, problem-solving and creativity in finding solutions
