POSITION SUMMARY Incumbents are responsible for the overall functions of a health program, ensuring quality control and effectiveness of the program, coordinating special projects, and preparing applicable reports. May include supervising staff.
POSITION SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Incumbent assists the Office of Policy & Prevention Management Team in ensuring quality control and effectiveness of the program, planning, coordinating and evaluating special initiatives, and preparing applicable reports. Incumbent coordinates tobacco control and prevention initiatives and staff; while ensuring quality, evidence-informed, and cost effective services are provided by educated competent staff. The position focuses on initiatives related to tobacco control and prevention efforts in public health and will coordinate and supervise the tobacco cessation and tobacco equity interventions. Position will ensure evidence-based, culturally appropriate tobacco cessation practices are being put into place in public health priority settings.
• Plans health education programs based on needs of target population. • Oversee and assures quality and accuracy of health promotion programs and services. • Oversee implementation of health communication, marketing, public and outreach strategies. • Assist with identifying funding opportunities and developing funding proposals. • May supervises staff for assigned program.
Experience: Three years of related experience. Prior experience in evidence based chronic disease prevention strategies preferred, with an emphasis on tobacco control.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field.

Licenses and Certifications: Valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver’s license. Ability to obtain and maintain a County Operator’s Permit.
