Position Description: CCI is seeking a Public Health Analyst who will provide evaluation support of public health programs for the Disability and Health Branch (DHB) in the National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia. Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead, design, conduct, implement and disseminate multiple quantitative research studies and projects using innovative methods and technologies to identify and address gaps in public health programs, policies, and practices for muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, Fragile X syndrome and newborn hearing screening.

• Lead and/or support manuscripts that look at outcomes, utilization patterns, costs and reimbursements for muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, Fragile X syndrome and newborn hearing screening.

• Compile and analyze national data from a variety of sources, (e.g. Marketscan Data and Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project) to support research activities for the Rare Disorders and Health Outcome (RDHO) and Early Hearing Detection and Intervention(EHDI) teams.

• Ensure consistency across organizational components regarding style, grammar, punctuation practices and adherence to applicable policies, e.g. internet/intranet ready, etc.

• Analyze and prepare e-materials such as EHDI e-GM, concept papers and other EHDI-related material for publication ensuring the most logical and effective sequence, length, tone, and medium are utilized for the intended audience.

• Verify EHDI content information by research and consultation with other Subject-matter experts and/or team members. • Coordinate and/or assist in developing an EHDI document repository, database, and/or organizational reports for publishing on the EHDI SharePoint site.

• Utilize a variety of computerized technology such as desktop publishing systems and graphics software to create, edit, and prepare the e-GM and/or other EHDI related materials for publication.

• Determine final format, layout, and source information to produce camera-ready copies before e-clearance submission of documents and website content.

• Create electronic documents in hypertext mark-up language (HTML) by using basic HTML coding and graphics and/or consults with appropriate information technology staff to develop internet/intranet ready copy of the e-GM for e-posting.

Qualifications: • Advanced degree (MPH, MS) with major study in an academic field relating to public health or the health sciences, appropriate to the work of the position;

• 3 years’ experience, preferably at the CDC.

• Experience in partnership development, health equity/disparities and literature reviews required.

• Experience with SAS, ArcGIS, R, SPSS

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Regularly publish and present work in high-impact peer-review journals and conferences.

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to synthesize and document critical information from verbal conversations/meetings and technical reports

• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team and to interact collaboratively with CDC stakeholders

• Ability to take initiative and work on tasks independently.

• Ability to be flexible and adapt to evolving priorities (multitasking).
