Position Description: Seeking a full time Research Assistant for an observational epidemiological study to understand the long-term impact of deployment to Central Asia, Southwest Asia or Africa after 2001 on lung health. The study is conducted at the VA Puget Sound Healthcare System in Seattle and Tacoma, WA.

Key responsibilities for the Research Assistant position include the following: ? Telephone recruitment of study participants ? Preparing and tracking study mailings ? Performing study visits, including spirometry testing ? Accurate data entry into RedCap and Access study databases ? Some local travel using a federal agency car will be required

Ideal candidates for the Research Assistant position will have the following attributes: ? BA/BS or higher degree in a relevant scientific and/or research-related field ? Experience in clinical, epidemiological, or health services research (preferred) ? Strong organizational skills ? Strong telephone skills ? Excellent written and verbal communication skills ? Excellent interpersonal skills ? Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook ? Experience with Access, Research Electronic Data Capture (RedCap) or other survey applications desirable, and MS SharePoint ? Candidates must have a valid driving license ? Candidates must be a US citizen

Ideal candidates should be flexible and adaptable as tasks will be varied and may change periodically, and should demonstrate a desire to learn new tasks as well as a desire to investigate and develop best practices to be shared with the study team.

Salary will be based on the candidate’s experience and education. Salaries for this position range from $36,213 to $44,857, depending on qualifications and includes benefits.
