CHAI seeks a self-motivated individual with outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to help rapidly increase women's access to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services and reduce maternal mortality in Lao PDR as an Associate on CHAI's SRH team.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) in Lao has made significant progress in increasing access to SRH services. However, gaps still exist. Persistent access barriers to SRH services contribute to a high maternal deaths rate and a high adolescent birth rate. CHAI is partnering with the Ministry of Health in Lao PDR to implement a broad range of activities aimed at significantly increasing access to SRH services nationally for women and adolescent girls.

The SRH Associate will support the SRH program team in compiling and synthesizing data to support the Ministry of Health to create informed strategic plans and ensure that these plans are translated into strong operational plans at the subnational level and are implemented effectively. Additionally, the Associate will lead monitoring and evaluation program activities. The Associate will be based in Vientiane, Lao PDR, but will be required to travel within the country up to 25% of the time.

• Work together with the SRH program team to compile lessons from focal provinces and support the program team to design a model for SRH service delivery that can be scaled nationally • Compile, synthesize and analyze data to inform the development of assessments, training materials, reports and other program materials to ensure effective program execution • Liaise with the Health Systems team to ensure SRH health information data is routinely validated and can be effectively utilized by MCHC for strategic planning, supported through the use of dashboards and tools • Support the program team to develop compelling presentations and reports • Design and coordinate process for tracking program indicators • Support the Program Manager to coordinate project-wide outputs related to reporting and project updates • Collaborate with government to ensure skills transfer and government ownership • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders in government, international partners, donors and NGOs, and ensure maximum coordination of resources and effort • Undertake any other duties as requested by the Program Manager

Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or higher and at least 3 years of professional experience in the private or public sector • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and quantitative skills • Entrepreneurial mindset, including ability to work independently with little guidance, propose and implement new approaches/initiatives, and think strategically in a fast-paced and multicultural environment • Ability to absorb and synthesize a broad range of information, adapt quickly to new situations, and learn on the job • Strong written and oral communication skills in English, including the ability to prepare and present compelling presentations and program planning and memo documents • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word • Ability to travel at short notice and on a regular basis Advantages • Experience working with the Government or other NGOs at the various levels of the health system • Experience working in sexual and reproductive health, women's health or health systems strengthening • Lao or Thai language skills
