Position Description: WK Advisors is currently partnering with Heluna Health for a Director of New Business Development and Strategy, located in the Los Angeles region. Heluna Health is a $115M nonprofit 501c(3) organization in the California that provides program and support services to over 39 million individuals through partnerships, optimizing population health needs. Heluna’s services include: program development, human resource, fiscal support, and contract & grant management. Heluna Health leads the nation’s largest nonprofit network of WIC services (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children), serving more than 200,000 families each year; partners with the State of California on its numerous communicable disease diagnosis and prevention activities; and has created a nationally-recognized early literacy program called “Little by Little,” helping more than 65,000 low-income children start their school years ready for success. The Director of New Business Development and Strategy will be a key player in securing multi- million dollar contracts instrumental in expanding Heluna Health’s portfolio of clients while developing new business strategies to drive the organizations long-term success. This will include working closely with the internal contracts and grants team while focusing on pivoting the organization towards a more diversified revenue stream to include non- governmental and philanthropic revenue.

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree required. Health or science degree preferred. MBA preferred. • Seven (7) plus years of experience in new business development and strategy, a portion of which preferably within the population health sector and/or management consulting. Proven track record in securing new, large government grants and/or contracts (in excess of $5 million). • Ability to successfully operate in complex environments that include both public agencies and the private sector. • Extensive experience in all aspects of customer relationship management, including use of CRM system. • Proven track record in creating and successfully executing on strategic plans and new business/growth strategies. • Outstanding written and oral communication skills with proven experience in managing and writing large contract or grant proposals or applications that have been funded. • Strong leadership qualities and excellent interpersonal skills. • Understanding of competitive public or private solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, RFA, etc.)
