Position Description: As Program Data Analyst, you will work within the Bureau of Mental Health’s Office of Research and Evaluation and work in collaboration with other bureau offices. You will support the operations of data collection and reporting systems, perform data cleaning and analyses, and prepare reports for management. Finally, you will assist with trainings as needed, and use data analyses to inform and improve mental health services best practices, innovations, and Regulatory and Legislative issues.

Job Responsibilities • Contribute to data systems development and implementation, including development of specifications, documentation, testing, and user support/technical assistance.

• Translate business needs into quantifiable data requirements and explicitly communicate the data requirements and limitations of a project to both IT staff and non-technical staff.

• Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve data collection systems to ensure data quality and reliability.

• Work with program staff and management to develop indicators to track program performance. Assist in the development and execution of plans for data analysis and program evaluation. Create reports and dashboards requested by data system users to improve program operations.

• Clean, manage, analyze, and interpret data from multiple mental health programs using SAS, SQL, Excel and Tableau.

• Create graphics, tables and slides. Effectively present and explain data and findings verbally, in writing, and in graphical format to non-technical audiences, program staff, and bureau leadership

Qualifications: Minimum requirements

•A master's degree from an accredited college or University with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science or in public health. •Ability to work independently and problem solve. •Experience working with an electronic health, social service, or case management record system. •Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. •Experience with statistical analysis software, preferably SAS, SQL, and/or Tableau

Organization Description: The Welfare Research, Inc. is seeking (1) one qualified candidate to fill the full- time position of Program Data Analyst in the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Division of Mental Hygiene.

The Bureau of Mental Health is responsible for mental health service delivery to residents of New York City. The bureau fulfills this responsibility by managing the development, implementation, and oversight of ongoing and new mental health initiatives for all New York City residents. The Bureau is also responsible for procuring and overseeing more than 400 treatment, rehabilitation, housing, case management, advocacy, and Assisted Outpatient Treatment programs. Bureau staff is responsible for managing the development, implementation, and oversight of ongoing and new contracted mental health programs in order to ensure full access to quality, community- integrated, recovery focused care for all residents. ThriveNYC is a NYC-focused comprehensive public health approach to mental health.
