Position Description: Ibis is seeking an individual to fill a Project Assistant position in the Cambridge, MA office. The ideal candidate will be committed to work on sexual and reproductive health and rights and is willing to provide administrative support to the team working to move an oral contraceptive (OC) over the counter (OTC) in the United States. The Project Assistant will work closely with the Free the Pill team and the OCs OTC Working Group.


•Coordinate and document internal and external meetings;

•Manage contact lists;

•Manage campaign materials including products and mailings;

•Contribute to tracking media coverage, policy developments, and new research on the topic;

•Participate in the development, design, and dissemination of communications materials, including writing/editing working group and Free the Pill newsletters, maintaining websites, and social media activities;

•Contribute to the team’s research activities including conducting literature reviews and tracking ongoing data collection;

•Support the Free the Pill Project Director in other duties as necessary.

Qualifications: Minimum:

•Self-starter, detail-oriented, highly organized, with demonstrated problem- solving approach and ability to meet deadlines

•Excellent writing and proofreading skills

•Strong computer and technological skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

•Flexible, responsive, and willing to pitch in on a variety of projects, and able to work both independently and as a team

We particularly welcome those who have:

•Experience working on projects related to sexual and reproductive health and rights

•Comfort working in WordPress, other website content management systems, and/or email marketing systems preferred.

•Familiarity with and interest in using social media tools

•Experience searching for and identifying scientific literature, especially in public health

•Sense of humor

Organization Description: Ibis Reproductive Health is an international nonprofit organization with a mission to improve women’s reproductive autonomy, choices, and health worldwide. Our core activity is clinical and social science research on issues receiving inadequate attention in other research settings and where gaps in the evidence exist. Our agenda is driven by women’s priorities and focuses on increasing access to safe abortion, expanding contraceptive access and choices, and integrating HIV and comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services.
