Position Description: Los Angeles County Dept of Public Health - Division of HIV and STD Programs (DHSP) is recruiting an Epidemiology Analyst. The successful candidate will work full-time as Project Coordinator for the CDC-funded Medical Monitoring Project (MMP).

Job Functions: • Strengthen relationships with collaborating healthcare providers and clinics. • Coordinate activities with healthcare providers and clinics and oversee patient recruitment and outreach. • Coordinate the data collection field activities of interviewers/abstractors • Oversee quality control measures for interviews and medical record abstractions • Manage project databases • Assist with data cleaning and analysis • Prepare reports and presentations of research findings • Assist with preparation of relevant documents for IRB applications • Develop and deliver staff training • Coordinate community advisory board meetings • Serve as the CSTE contact for local surveillance staff, other health department staff, and CDC

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: • A Master's degree from an accredited college with specialization in Epidemiology or Biostatistics. • A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.

Desirable Qualifications: • Knowledge of/experience with HIV/AIDS • Ability to handle highly confidential information • Experience working with patients, healthcare providers, and diverse individuals • Experience supervising staff • Strong leadership skills • Strong problem-solving skills • Strong written and oral communication skills • Ability to multi-task • Strong attention to detail • Experience with SAS software • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Access and Power Point)
