Position Description: This position is located in the Epidemiology and Response Division of the New Mexico Department of Health. This position will lead surveillance and epidemiological research in leading causes of injury and violence-related morbidity and mortality in New New Mexico. Incumbent will manage, organize and and analyze injury and violence data, pre prepare state and local level reports, pro produce publications, presentations and epi epidemiology reports. Incumbent will oversee imp implementation, interventions, and will pro provide support and data to agencies working to to prevent and/or reduce the incidence and sev severity of injury and violence. Incumbent is is responsible for writing and submitting gra grant applications related to injury sur surveillance and prevention. Preference will be be given to candidates who have experience wor working with major data sets such as hos hospitalization, emergency department, and vit vital records data. The position supervises two two epidemiologists, and a Prescription Drug Ove Overdose Data Abstractor in the Office of Inj Injury Prevention, Injury and Behavioral Epi Epidemiology Bureau.

This position is a Pay Band 80.

Qualifications: Master's Degree in Public Health, Ep Epidemiology, Sciences, Social Sciences, or St Statistics and two (2) years in Public He Health to include data analysis and linking me methodology.
