Position Description: Responsibilities: The incumbent will assume overall responsibility for data accuracy, currency, data analysis, interpretation, information extraction and representation of grant related sample test data for the New York State Department of Health at Wadsworth Center. They will be responsible for providing information to stakeholders upon request and ensure that data is captured adequately for downstream usage. They will serve as a liaison between Wadsworth Center programs and external entities on data exchange and user interfaces, including outreach with data exchange partners such as other Department of Health (DOH) entities, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL), hospitals, clinics and public health partners in other states for sample test data. The incumbent will be responsible for establishing, migrating and maintaining message routes in support of our public health initiatives and grant obligations; and develop an understanding of the data and relationships supporting the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and three years of data analysis or related experience; OR a Master’s degree in a relevant field and two years’ experience, or a Doctoral degree in a relevant field and one year of experience. Examples of related experience include information systems/technology, information management and software development. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with laboratory data and workflows. Experience utilizing Orion Rhapsody or similar to message data with external entities. Proficiency utilizing database tools to manipulate tables, views and stored procedures. Proficiency in developing applications with Java, JavaScript, Python, or other Web application development tools.
