Position Description: Evolution Management, Inc. is seeking an Instructional Designer for Full-Time Employment on an engaging eLearning design and development project, focused on development of technical expertise for scientific application. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, and strong consulting acumen is desired. Must have excellent eLearning instructional design and development expertise using Captivate. Federal government experience is preferred, especially CDC.

Essential Position Requirements Include: • Advanced formal instructional design knowledge, skills and experience for design and development of eLearning training, with some experience in design and development of instructor led training • Strong technical knowledge and abilities to utilize Adobe Captivate for eLearning design and development, seeing the project through from outlines to storyboards and scripts to production and launch • Knowledge of, and commitment to, integrating principles of adult learning for the design of highly engaging and interactive training experiences • Flexibility and commitment to meet client needs and pacing • Ability to effectively engage with a variety of stakeholders related to challenges in training interventions • Ability and desire to work well on a team, leveraging the differing strengths of other ID’s and training colleagues • Content analysis skills • Research skills for creative content delivery and best-fit learning methods within eLearning development • Course design, course development, course evaluation and assessment expertise and experience • Excellent writing skills, demonstrated through a variety of training materials, such as Instructor Guides, Outlines, Narration Scripts, Needs Assessment Report, and Surveys • Media expertise sufficient to accurately describe to a media specialist the need for video, image selection, and closed captioning • Demonstrated experience creating short videos, and recording and editing audio narrations • Problem solving skills related to eLearning development tasks, including software technical issues and web or learning management systems issues • Gather technical requirements and constraints for project development, including requirements relative to 508, SCORM and LMS compliance

Additional Capabilities Desired: • Ability to conduct and lead a formal training needs assessment, engaging with varied stakeholders in a planned and thorough process • Ability to utilize needs assessment to complete a gap analysis and determine training needs and opportunities • Strong experience and skills writing formal reports which summarize project findings, analyses, and deliverables • Utilization and knowledge of a wide range of communications activities, including development of web pages and eLearning • Technical expertise to address issues through online systems, i.e. Sharepoint, Google Drive, etc. • Software skills in Lectora, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Captivate, and/or other comparable tools • And potentially, web page development in conformance with responsive web design best practices and 508 accessibility requirements

Qualifications: Education and Experience Requirements: • 5+ years of applicable, formal instructional design experience • Masters level degree or 3-5 years of applicable experience in its place • Degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or closely related discipline preferred

Preferred Qualifications: • More than 1 year of experience as an employee or contractor for the federal government, preferably with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention • Training consulting experience and experience in skillful navigation of learning design challenges with the client
