Position Description: This full-time position directs planning and implementation for community health education and outreach onsite and in community settings. Promotes public health, facilitate, develop, implement, and evaluate public health efforts in the community in an integrated and collaborative fashion.

Integral to quality improvement efforts this position serves as performance improvement manager and accreditation coordinator. This position is considered a leadership position requiring strong communication skills to engage staff, community partners and the public to address identified population-level nutrition, physical activity, and identified health factors in the community in a culturally competent manner.

Serves as the Department Public Health Accreditation Coordinator facilitating ongoing continuous quality improvement efforts that meeting the Public Health Accreditation Board Standards and Measures. Provides leadership in development and implementation of the Community Health Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan working collaboratively with private and public entities. Collaborate with health specialists, schools and civic groups to determine community health needs and the availability of services, and to develop goals for meeting those community needs. Design and conduct evaluations to assess the quality and performance of public health efforts. Develop, conduct, or coordinate health needs assessments and other public health surveys. Develop and present health education and promotion programs such as training workshops, conferences, and school or community presentations.

Qualifications: Required: Bachelor degree with an emphasis in public health, kinesiology, nutrition or related area, excellent communication skills including writing and presentation, data management skills, proficient in English. Preferred: Master’s Degree in public health and experience in needs assessment and group facilitation. Community Health Education Specialist designation is desired.
