Position Description: This position is a Pay Band 98 Why does the job exist? This Principal Investigator (PI) position will assure all activities associated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Emerging Infections Program (EIP) Active Bacterial Surveillance (ABCs) and be an integral part of the Infectious Disease Epidemiology Bureau (IDEB) leadership team for infectious disease surveillance and response activities throughout New Mexico. Other IDEB duties will include participation in the emergency on-call services of IDEB and other act activities related to infectious disease sur surveillance and response in the state. How does it get done? The ABCs PI will coordinate EIP ABCs initiatives with our partners at the University of New Mexico, other in-state agencies and private partners as well as with the national network of ten EIP sites. This supervisory position will assure all aspects of the ABCs active, population-based sur surveillance system in New Mexico including pre preparation of grant applications and rel related reports and scientific manuscripts, att attendance at local and national meetings, sup supervision of employees, and scientific lea leadership at the state and national levels. Who are the customers? CDC and the Infectious Diesease Epidmiology Bureau Bureau Ideal Candidate Will have: Experience with public health surveillance sy systems. Experience using statistical analysis s software (such as SAS, STATA, SPSS, etc.). writing writing experience. Experience working with community groups or c coalitions to design reports, analyses, h health status indicators or prevention p programs.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualification Medical Degree from an accredited medical school is required and six (6) years in the licensed practice of medicine is required. Must be licensed in accordance with the Medical Practice Act, Sections 61-6-1 through 61-6-35 NMSA 1978, and 16.10.1 t through 16.10.19 NMAC, as applicable.
