Position Description: Responsibilities

The Evaluation Specialist II is located in the Bureau of Water Supply Protection (Albany) at the Center for Environmental Health. Under the supervision of the Research Scientist 4, the incumbent will develop and execute evaluation strategies for the New York City Watershed Section. Responsibilities include monitoring New York City's watershed protection program implementation, and conducting and evaluating research studies and other projects aimed at protecting the critical New York City water supply system. The incumbent will assist with regulatory compliance activities related to New York City's Filtration Avoidance Determination (FAD) and other aspects of drinking water quality protection. Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in the research, analysis, and/or evaluation of health related programs; OR an Associates degree and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in public health, environmental engineering, or a related field. One year of experience related to water protection. Experience in program evaluation, data collection and quantitative/ qualitative analysis. Proficiency in data analysis using SAS, Excel and/or other analytical and data management tools. Additionally, the incumbent will have good oral and written communication skills, and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
