Position Description: Responsibilities The Health Program Coordinator I will be located in the Office of Drug User Health (ODUH) and will perform duties related to the Opioid Crisis Funding. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting technical assistance to expand and implement buprenorphine in emergency departments and county jails in partnership with local health departments and key stakeholders. They will be responsible for serving as a lead liaison with county health officials to identify ED providers, law enforcement and correctional staff, treatment providers, peer response teams, drug task force members, and community members whom will play an integral role in helping to expand buprenorphine access and services in these settings. Working closely with the Opioid Program Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating buprenorphine waiver and related trainings, conducting quality assurance to ensure training efficacy, work with EDs and jails to track inmates and patients post-release/discharge, assess how EDs and jails are conducting overdose response trainings and naloxone distribution, and work force development. Further technical assistance may include assisting in the development of protocols, establishing centralized referral networks and tracking systems, obtaining buy-in from leadership and key providers, and measuring and evaluating the impact of activities conducted by EDs and jails. Other responsibilities include: coordinating the statewide Buprenorphine Working Group, coordinating regional meetings and calls with experts and across programs, and development of resources and educational materials. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and three years of experience in the conduct or administration of a public health, health regulatory or human service related program; OR an Associate's degree and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience. At least one year of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of general experience.

Preferred Qualifications

At least three years of experience in one or more of the following: drug user health, opioid use disorders, harm reduction, medically assisted treatment, public health program management, evaluation of policies and interventions relating to drug user health. At least one year of experience providing technical assistance in a public health program. At least one year of experience working with health care providers, government agencies, emergency departments, correctional facilities, community groups and other organizations as necessary. Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Experience exhibiting independent judgment in the development, implementation and evaluation of plans, procedures and policies.
