Position Description: The SOM: Surgery seeks a Public Health Program Associate or Senior Associate; depending on the level of the successful candidate's experience. The ideal candidate would have working knowledge of SAS (including data management, cleaning, and analysis experience), experience managing a research project, excellent attention to detail, be organized, and scientific writing experience. The Associate or Senior Associate will manage projects for NIH and privately-funded research studies with the opportunity to gain experience in clinical and health services research including pragmatic trials, quality metrics and predictive analytics by assisting with ongoing research projects. Duties might include analyzing a variety of research datasets using statistical methods, assisting with study design, statistical interpretation and data management and analysis using Microsoft Excel, SAS or R. The Associate or Senior Associate may also assist research team by providing analytical support for presentations, abstract and peer- reviewed manuscripts, and grant writing. The work environment is a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, biostatisticians, epidemiologists, behavioral scientists, and data scientists.

This position may require creating and managing IRB protocols and data use agreements for research studies, as well as supervising graduate research assistants and interns. The associate will have a chance to present research findings through written manuscripts and oral and poster presentations at conferences.

Qualifications: Master's of Public Health (MPH), Master's of Science (MS) degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, or bioinformatics.
