Position Description: The Program Manager will collaborate with external partners to plan and implement regional and state workshops, provide technical assistance, evaluate progress, and participate in stakeholder committees and road safety audits. The Program Manager will also help provide “train the trainer” programs to public transit professionals and community activists.

Responsibilities include: • Plan and implement local, regional and state training workshops • Evaluate progress on implementation of Georgia Pedestrian Safety Action Plan • Analyze crash, spending, and other data • Provide trainings, placemaking projects, and special events that help residents become effective advocates for safety improvements • Assess bus stop locations on public transit routes, participate in road safety audits, recommend safety improvements, and track progress • Participate in local, regional, and state advisory committees • Develop outreach material and make presentations • Develop website content and implement social media strategy • Perform other duties related to the core work of PEDS as assigned

Qualifications: EDUCATION • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required • Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or Planning desirable

EXPERIENCE • At least two years of experience working with external partners, such as government agencies, the media, and neighborhood associations, required • Experience planning and implementing workshops and special events required • Experience analyzing data sets from multiple sources required • Experience working collaboratively and managing multiple projects simultaneously required • Experience with public speaking and making PowerPoint presentations required • Experience preparing and designing professional reports desirable • Experience maintaining websites and fluency with social media desirable • Experience with advocacy and community level interventions desirable

QUALIFICATIONS • Must be passionate about increasing pedestrian safety and creating walkable communities • Must be self-directed, with strong personal initiative, ability to meet deadlines, analytical mindset, and outstanding attention to detail • Must be energetic, outgoing and personable, with outstanding writing and public speaking skills and a confident and engaging presentation style • Must be a team player and comfortable incorporating feedback from partners • Must be licensed driver, have access to a car, and willing to participate in occasional evening and weekend meetings in metro Atlanta and elsewhere in Georgia • Familiarity with Americans with Disability Act requirements, national transportation guidelines and transportation safety and pedestrian- friendly street design issues desirable • Ability to speak Spanish a plus

Organization Description: PEDS is a non-profit organization dedicated to making communities in Georgia safe, inviting and accessible to all pedestrians. We work with transportation professionals and others to promote safe sidewalks and crossing treatments. We also provide workshops and participate in road safety audits that help transportation professionals learn how to design for pedestrian safety.
