Position Description: This is a full time position reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. The Project Director is responsible for the overall operations of the 17P Project, including coordination of professional and consumer outreach, marketing and educational material development, program development, and staff management.

Responsibilities:

• Provides overall direction for the planning, management and evaluation of all projects of the NJ 17P initiative including the hiring and supervision of staff • Schedules and coordinates regular meetings of the 17P stakeholder group and subcommittees • Facilitates and supports the implementation of the 17P project through effective networking with providers and utilization of project resources • Collaborates and communicates with NJ Department of Health staff to promote improved access to 17P, identify barriers, systemic and cultural, to use among appropriate women, and assure the effective use of available resources • Participates in the development of a data collection system to support physicians and patients communicate about access and use of 17P throughout pregnancy. • Monitors, analyzes and interprets project area health status data with providers and consumers through appropriate committees • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with state and county health agencies, legislators, and pan Hellenic organizations and other relevant community groups and agencies • Maintains records and provides reports as required by FHI and funding agencies • Represents 17P initiative and FHI at professional meetings, with the media and at other events • Communicates regularly with Chief Operating Officer on the progress and activities of projects • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications: • Advanced degree in nursing or health- related field preferred (i.e., MPH, MSW) • Minimum 5 years’ experience in maternal-child health and/or community health programs • Management/supervision or project management experience preferred • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a variety of health care professionals, administrators, and community leaders • Strong organization skills • Valid driver’s license, car and current insurance policy
