Position Description: The Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences (ERHS) in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS) at Colorado State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Epidemiology at the Assistant Professor rank. This position is located within a unique multi-disciplinary environment with a history of excellence in epidemiologic research and teaching programs. The faculty member will have the opportunity to be a member of the Colorado School of Public Health (www.publichealth.ucdenver.edu), including the Graduate Degree Program in Public Health at Colorado State University (https://publichealth.colostate.edu).

This faculty position is a full-time, nine- month, tenure-track appointment. The selected faculty member will participate in teaching graduate education courses and will have the opportunity to contribute to the ERHS undergraduate curriculum. This position will also contribute through mentoring on graduate student committees and advising. The faculty member will be expected to develop and maintain a vibrant, externally funded research program.

Qualifications: Required: PhD or equivalent in Epidemiology or closely related field

Preferred: Previous teaching experience

A history of and/or a potential to develop an externally funded research program

Research focus areas include: environmental epidemiology (especially focused in water), occupational epidemiology, molecular/genetic epidemiology, reproductive epidemiology, infectious disease epidemiology, and community- based epidemiology. Other research areas will be considered

Strong methods/quantitative skills

Organization Description: The Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences (ERHS) houses academic, research and clinical programs that address the promotion of human and animal health. The mission of the department is to deliver excellent education in environmental and radiological health to prepare students to contribute to society; to conduct state of the art research in human and animal health focusing on environmental exposures and clinical applications; and to promote excellence in outreach and service to the citizens of Colorado, the United States, and globally through information transfer, research, continuing education and technical assistance. ERHS is unique in its multifactorial approach to disease that involves chemical, physical, and biological factors. ERHS provides undergraduate and graduate programs leading to B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees.
