Position Description: •These positions work collaboratively with the Texas Department of State Health Services HIV/STD/TB/Viral Surveillance program and CDC. •The selected individual will perform highly complex (senior-level) public health work. •Use SAS, SPSS, and coding skills to compile surveillance reports. •Provide technical assistance and training for HIV Case and Incidence Surveillance. •Coordinate and conduct medical record abstractions to collect HIV case information. information. •Develop/maintain collaborative relationships with HIV/STD surveillance sites to facilitate collection and reporting HIV case and morbidity data through eHARS. •Requires about 40% travel. •Extract and transform raw data from m multiple projects into usable forms that can b be subsequently loaded in the database. •Write more complex code for database a access, modification and construction. •Prepare detailed reports for publications. •Work with Project Analysts and Project C Coordinators to provide complex data a analysis and ensure the highest quality data a and utilities are produced and project needs a are met in a timely manner. •Prepare and maintain form and procedure m manuals to affect implementation and c continuing operation of computer application s systems. •Assist in training of Data Analysts and P Project Assistants. •Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Masters degree in related field such as B Biostatistics or Computer Science and two ( (2) years research data analysis experience d directly related to the type of database b building and maintenance including e experience working with and maintaining l large complex databases along with database a analysis experience, OR; Bachelor's degree in related field such as Biostatistics or Computer Science and four (4) years research data analysis experience directly related to the type of database building and maintenance including experience working with maintaining large complex databases along with database analysis experience.
