Position Description: The Senior Research Associate (SRA) is a member of multiple research, technical assistance, policy development, and programmatic teams depending on scope of work. The center’s current scope of work includes health care access, health insurance, health policy, child health and child policy, school health, behavioral health, long-term care, cancer, community health system development, public health systems, social determinants of health equity and Medicaid. The SRA manages the daily operations of grants and contracts. The current position will conduct work mainly with the Center of Excellence for Children’s Behavioral Health, with a focus on research and evaluation activities.

This position reports directly to the Project Director or Associate Project Director. The position works closely with internal staff as well as external consultants and clients. This position may or may not supervise staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: •Serves as project manager by providing administrative and management support to existing contracts and grants. •Serves as a member of the team that designs and conducts quantitative and qualitative research to address health related problems and publish results in professional and peer-reviewed journals. •Writes reports, abstracts, briefing papers, presentations, and other research- related communications. •Facilitates group meetings through the use of meeting design strategies to ensure that meeting goals and objectives are met. Manages meeting goals and objectives, meeting announcements and materials, and reports meeting results. •Leads the development of creative solutions to complex health policy issues. •Manages research teams by coordinating administrative support, budget management, IRB approval, staffing and client support. •May or may not supervise the work of and mentor staff. •Serves as a member of the grant writing team responsible for literature reviews, background information, and conceptualization of ideas or other aspects of the grant application process as assigned. •Maintains existing relationships with external clients, stakeholders and university-wide partners. •Communicates learnings from GHPC projects, programs and research to various audiences though policy briefs, academic publications, project reports, presentations and facilitated meetings, etc. •Leads meetings and represents the GHPC at national conferences and meetings. •Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Ph.D. or Doctoral degree in health policy, health management, psychology, public health, public policy, or a related field and 1 year of experience; OR a Master’s degree and 4 years’ experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree and 6 years’ experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Strong research and evaluation skills; management experience; background or knowledge in the area of children’s behavioral health.
