Position Description: Job Summary The Department of Health Services Management and Policy at East Tennessee State University invites applications for a full- time tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in 2019. This position will support the department’s growing educational and research programs and will be responsible for teaching, conducting high quality research, and engaging in institutional and professional service. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the growth of the department’s programs.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated, or potential for, excellence in teaching, including in-class and online health management and policy courses. Ability to develop, execute, and maintain an independent, high-quality research program. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently and to function effectively as part of a team. Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to relate to a diverse student body. Proficiency in computer software including health data analytics and statistical software.

Required Qualifications A doctoral degree in public health, health management and policy, or a related field from a regionally accredited university. ETSU is an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action employer.

Preferred Qualifications Effective online and in-class teaching experience in health management and policy at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Strong research record as a demonstrated by publications in top academic journals and an ongoing research program/agenda. Collaborative research is a plus. Practice experience in health services management or health policy.
