Position Description: Human exposure to environmental pollutants and their impact on health.

Applicants with expertise in environmental or occupational epidemiology, children’s environmental health, air pollution, indoor air quality, exposure to heavy metals, personal or environmental exposure assessment, and community- based en environmental health research are strongly en encouraged to apply.

Preference will be given to applicants with a record of peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and experience in teaching graduate level courses in environmental health sciences. Candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the UAB academic community through their research, teaching and service are especially encouraged to apply.

Qualifications: Candidates for this position will hold a PhD, ScD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree with a strong background in environmental health sciences, epidemiology, public health, or a related discipline. Responsibilities for this position will include developing an independent research program, teaching at the graduate level, advising masters and doctoral students, and participating in service activities.

Organization Description: The mission of the School of Public Health is to create, disseminate, apply, and teach knowledge to improve health and wellbeing. It has approximately 350 undergraduates and 400 graduate students with 65 faculty members and 150 administrative and professional staff. The School of Public Health, accredited by the Council of Education for Public Health is the only accredited School of Public Health in Alabama.
