Position Description: |
This position will conduct surveillance of circumstances associated with violent deaths and develop and pursue prevention recommendations and work to reduce the incidence of violent death in New Mexico Position will lead the New Mexico Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS), which oversees violent death surveillance activities (and includes drug overdose-related deaths). The incumbent will also provide leadership for two data abstractor positions that study circumstances of violent and overdose related deaths). In addition, the selected candidate will disseminate surveillance and prevention results in written reports, presentations, web-based formats, press releases, and pub publications. This epidemiologist may also be be the Principal Investigator for, and help man manage, the federal NVDRS grant.
