Position Description: The JPS Center for Outcomes Research invites applications for an institutionally-funded faculty position at the rank of Assistant Member (academic equivalent to Assistant Professor). The purpose of the Center is to conduct innovative health outcomes research that informs healthcare decisions by patients, providers, and policymakers. Our collaborative team of epidemiologists, biostatisticians, and health services researchers are provided abundant resources for career and leadership development. We are particularly interested in applications from epidemiologists or health services researchers with expertise or interest in liver diseases, substance abuse, implementation science, or patient- reported outcomes.

This position allows extraordinary opportunities to collaborate with researchers from multiple disciplines, healthcare providers, and health systems leaders. The Assistant Member is expected to develop an independent research program and collaborations that generate publications and funding to advance the mission of the Center. Established data sources include an accredited institutional cancer registry, the Hepatitis C Outcomes Registry, the HIV Care and Outcomes Registry, and extensive electronic health records. These data sources are ideal for publications, preliminary data for funding proposals, and development of ancillary studies. An adjunct faculty appointment is offered with the CEPH-accredited UNT Health Science Center School of Public Health, which has one of the most diverse student bodies in the nation.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, ScD) or medical degree with graduate training (e.g. MD/MPH) in epidemiology, health services research, psychology, or a related field. Postdoctoral training or patient-oriented research experience is desired. Key personal traits include an entrepreneurial mentality and ability to thrive in multidisciplinary research teams.
