Position Description: KDH Research & Communication (KDHRC), a public health and public policy research institution in Midtown Atlanta, seeks a Health Communications Specialist to support our contributions to a National Youth Anti-Tobacco media campaign by:

•Documenting the scientific justification for creative executions and working with creative teams to craft scientifically rigorous and engaging messages •Supporting the design and execution of internal research projects such as focus groups and copytesting •Remaining up to date on the scientific literature; summarizing new research findings for broad distribution. •Supporting high quality client service for a high-visibility project with quick deadlines and shifting priorities.

The researcher will also support other KDHRC project and proposal efforts, by: •Gathering information and preparing materials for inclusion in public health programs, reports, and papers. These materials may include project reports, evaluation materials such as focus group guides, surveys, and protocols, and public health products, such as curricula, training guides, and websites. •Writing research results; preparing reports for submission and papers for publication; potentially presenting results to clients or at conferences. •Assisting with conceptualizing, researching, and writing proposals.

Qualifications: REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS •Ability to multitask under strict deadlines and re-prioritize as necessary in a fast?paced environment •Exceptional attention to detail and precision with scientific concepts •Ability to analyze multiple strands of information and synthesize them into concise summaries and other communications •Strong writing and verbal skills to communicate clearly and professionally with internal staffers and external vendors •Strong interpersonal skills that build team performance and contribute positively to our corporate culture •Strong analytic, problem?solving, and decision?making capabilities


Qualifications for this position include: •Masters in public health, public policy, psychology, economics, or a related social science field, or equivalent experience in a research organization similar to KDHRC •Excellent writing abilities and analytic skills
