Position Description: The Prince George's County Health Department is seeking qualified applicants to fill a Planner IV (Health Planner) position, grade A-27, for the Office of Assessment and Planning Division within its Office of the Health Officer.

This is a highly responsible professional position, whereby the incumbent leads the Prince George's Healthcare Action Coalition (PGHAC) Quality Improvement Initiatives, and plans, implements, and monitors strategic plan outcomes to support and respond to the community's health planning needs. The incumbent is supervised and evaluated in accordance with Departmental, rules, policies, and procedures.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

The incumbent serves as the Health Department's liaison in the community;oversees collaborative planning processes; provides lead technical expertise in program planning, evaluation, logic modeling modeling workflow development, performance data/collection, reviews, and analysis; researches and recommends grant opportunities to the Health Officer and Deputy Health Officers; monitors agency program data for evaluating identified outcomes; provides technical assistance with data collection and analysis; develops, implements, and leads the Department's Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives; leads staff with QI tools and processes to support program efforts; supervises and evaluates the Prince George's Healthcare Action Coalition (PGHAC) staff/research assistants; represents the Health Department at workgroups planning/logistics and support meetings; and performs other tasks and duties assigned, which may not be specifically listed in the position description; however, are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the the employee's class of work.

Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Public Health, Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Studies, Economics, Energy Policy, Urban Studies, Housing and Community Development, or a closely related field, plus three (3) years of progressively responsible professional administrative, technical, analytical and developmental work experience. An equivalent combination of nine (9) years of relevant education and experience will be considered. EACH CANDIDATE MUST INCLUDE INFORMATION THAT CLEARLY DEMONSTRATES THE ABOVE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree from an accredited college or uni or university in Business or Public Admini Administration, Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Studies, Economics, Energy Policy, Urban Studies, Housing and Community Development, or a closely related field, plus:

1. A minimum of three (3) years health plan planning experience obtained in a State or loca local Health Department or similar agency. 2. A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing a community coalition or similar group. 3. A minimum of three (3) years of experience leading Quality Improvement processes.
