Position Description: Summary: TennCare is the State Medicaid Agency in Tennessee, providing high quality, cost effective health care to 1.4 million Tennesseans, with an annual budget of approximately $11.8 billion. Long-Term Services and Supports is one of the largest units within TennCare with a team of 78 highly capable staff who are committed to leading the ongoing development and operation of an innovative, sustainable, person-driven long-term services and supports (LTSS) system in which older adults and people with disabilities and chronic conditions have choice, control and access to a full array of high quality services and supports that assure optimal outcomes, such as independence, health and quality of life.

Visionary and driven Assistant Commissioner and Chief of Long-Term Services and Supports seeks an innovative, self-motivated strategic planning, project management and data analytics professional to plan and implement key strategic initiatives, oversee project and program management and data analytics functions, including all external reporting functions, and facilitate communication and collaboration among LTSS staff and across business and functional units within the broader TennCare organization, as well as external partners. As trusted counsel and adjutant for the Chief of LTSS, requires fierce loyalty, strong emotional intelligence, solid judgement, strong analytical skills, team leadership and development expertise, effective written and verbal communication and facilitation skills, and the ability to manage multiple high priority projects in a fast-paced environment of high expectations.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities: • Planning and implementation of multiple strategic cross-organizational program initiatives • Oversight and continuous improvement of day-to-day program administration and operations • Identification of challenges and barriers, and effective and timely problem solving and resolution • Oversight of data analytics for internal program management and external reporting, including data request development, translation of business needs, data review and validation, thorough documentation, and contextual narrative and presentation • Integration and alignment of staff and contract resources and facilitation of internal and external communication processes, including information technology to support business needs • Lead and mentor project management support functions and staff

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor or advanced degree with specialized project management training and/or certification
