Position Description: The HIV Epidemiology and Field Services Program is recruiting a Project Coordinator/Field Supervisor for the New York City National HIV Behavioral Surveillance System Transgender Women Project (NHBS-Trans), which will conduct HIV behavioral surveillance of transgender women in order to assess HIV risk behavior, HIV prevalence, and other HIV-related outcomes. Trans women will be recruited via respondent- driven sampling with a recruitment goal of 200 participants. Participants will undergo an interviewer-administered survey, offered blood-based HIV testing, and offered self- administered STI testing via oral, rectal, and urine samples. Participation in the survey, HIV/STI testing, and peer recruitment will be incentivized. This full- time, temporary position is planned to begin in early 2019 for a term of approximately 6-12 months, contingent on the project timeline and funding. Evening and weekend hours may be required.

The Project Coordinator/Field Supervisor will:

Conduct ongoing formative research, if needed (including interviews with the community). Via community outreach, oversee the recruitment of the initial set of participants who will initiate chain recruitment. Assist in the identification of field site locations. Co-coordinate Collaborative Board meetings and communication. Manage all aspects of planning for and daily operations of data collection at field site locations, adhere to detailed survey research protocols, and comply with protocols for confidentiality. Manage data related to recruitment coupons through Coupon Manager software (training will be provided). Ensure adequate preparations, including supplies, materials, and equipment for field site locations. Implement all locally developed procedures, including safety, incident reporting and handling participants known to project staff. Assist with field staff-related issues (i.e. training and development, scheduling, team building) and conduct interviewer evaluations in collaboration with the Principal Investigator and Project Director. Review, tabulate, and reconcile forms and logs used in the field; review errors with field staff; and oversee documentation of data errors. Ensure daily transfer of data from the handheld computers to desktop computer and supervise entry of HIV/STI testing data, data errors and other study data into the secure data portal. Ensure proper documentation of HIV/STI testing activities, including consent; ensure adherence to HIV testing and STI specimen collection procedures; oversee maintenance of HIV testing/STI specimen collection supplies; maintain and ship HIV/STI test specimens; receive and log HIV/STI test results from lab; return STI results to participants. Oversee linkage to care procedures. Assist with the hiring and directly supervise 3-6 field staff who will conduct interviews, conduct HIV testing, and other field activities. With the Project Director, conduct training of all field staff. Participate in CDC site visits, trainings, regular conference calls, and, as available, monthly calls. Assist with other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Qualifications:

Two or more years of relevant public health or project management experience Extensive experience working with transgender communities Ability to learn and use computerized data collection programs Willing to work shifts during evenings and weekends, if necessary Willing to travel to Atlanta for a 2-3 day training at the Centers for Disease Control Computer experience using Microsoft Word and Excel, and ability to quickly learn customized programs Ability to work as part of a research team Not required, but advantageous:

Fluency in Spanish Supervisory experience Experience working with community-based organizations HIV testing experience
