TRAVEL: As required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position

IHRC, Inc. provides scientific, information management, management consulting, bioinformatics, and administrative program support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other Federal and private sector clients.  The successful candidate will be a full-time employee of IHRC, Inc., and will be assigned to the Mycotic Diseases Branch (MDB), Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases (DFWED), at the CDC, 1600 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA, to provide support for coordination of fungal disease programs.

SCOPE OF WORK

The Public Health Analyst will serve as a program coordinator, providing technical assistance to the Branch Manager and Branch Chief in support of the Mycotic Diseases Branch fungal disease program activities.  

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work independently to serve as the program coordinator for fungal disease activities domestically and abroad
  • Work closely with project officers and leadership to collect milestone and project tracking information
  • Maintain weekly project activity report
  • Participate in Team Meetings as needed
  • Monitor and maintain Branch document clearance process; provide updates, support and trainings for Branch as needed
  • Screen and manage submission of Portal entries
  • Serve as the coordinator for the Branch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) process
  • Serve a coordinator for Branch- wide SharePoint development
  • Assist with Branch communications products (i.e. web content, FACT sheets, etc.)
  • Assist with fungal technical contracts to include creation of statement of work, assistance with contract milestone monitoring, attendance and documentation of minute minutes for project update calls, etc
  • Participate in Branch-wide efficiency and quality improvement activities (i.e. monthly Quality Management Meetings)

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in a discipline related to the requirements of the position.

Required:

  • 1-2 years of experience working with infectious diseases programs
  • Excellent data management skills
  • Experience in project management, public speaking and data analysis
  • Organizational skills demonstrating high attention to detail and the ability to organize multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills required for team work and interaction with people across CDC and with external partners
  • Ability to independently gather and collate project milestone data from Subject Matter Experts, while maintaining the ability to respond to Branch leadership requests for additional information
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience writing project reports and giving presentations

Desirable:

  • Background in public health programs
  • Experience with project management tools like Gantt charts

Language Skills:

  • The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English
