Position Description: Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health (ANSIRH) Program at UCSF seeks a Research Analyst to manage and analyze data from a few research projects. The Analyst will work closely with Ushma Upadhyay, PHD, MPH, Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences primarily on a study using Google AdWords to examine abortion access. Specific analyses will focus on decision certainty about abortion, financial barriers to abortion, and self-managed abortion. The Analyst will also analyze data on other studies as opportunities arise. The incumbent will be co-author of all manuscripts they contribute to; they will develop analysis plans, manage, clean and analyze project data; develop tables for manuscripts, draft methods and research results for manuscripts, participate in the dissemination of research findings via manuscripts and presentations, and provide other research/project support as needed. The Analyst will work within a multi-disciplinary team at ANSIRH and will contribute to other research projects as needed.

This position will be based in the ANSIRH research office in Oakland, California.

Qualifications: Required qualifications: • Strong skills in statistical analysis, STATA, database management • Demonstrated ability to clean, code and analyze data in STATA statistical software • Master’s Degree in public health, social sciences, or similar field • Advanced training in biostatistiscs and quantitative research methods • 1-2 years of experience working in public health • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize tasks • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Committed to an intersectional framework that includes, gender, economic, and racial justice

Preferred Qualifications: • 2 years of experience working in research, preferably reproductive health • Understanding of clinical practice, specifically in a reproductive health setting • Experience with UCSF policies and procedures and research administration, including UCSF CHR, MyResearch and RedCap • Commitment to address perspectives of communities of color to health issues
