Position Description: Seek a highly motivated individual with significant experience in statistical genetics, biostatistics, or bioinformatics to join an interdisciplinary collaborative research group of highly successful investigators that span clinical psychiatry/neurology, genetics, biochemistry, and neuroscience. The candidate will work on an NIH-funded project is to identify how depression and psychological well-being mediate Alzhemier’s disease risk. The data for this project are from two prospective studies whose participants agree to annual in-person assessments and eventual brain donation (n=1400). Multi-omic data (i.e., genomic, transcriptomic, epigenetic, and proteomic data) are generated on each sample and available for analysis to uncover new insights into Alzheimer’s disease and psychological well-being. The candidate will help prepare scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigators and will be encouraged to develop their own project using these data.

The ideal candidate must be able to work independently with minimal guidance. Presentations will be expected in lab meetings, and the candidate must keep well-documented records of his or her analysis.

Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS •Ph.D. or equivalent degree in statistical genetics, biostatistics, or bioinformatics. •Proficiency in using R, SAS, and Linux command line. •Excellent scientific writing ability and oral presentation skills. •Ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS •Programming experience in Perl/Python and C/C++/Go. •Experience using version control (Git). •Experience using Amazon web services for distributed computing or a local cluster. •Basic Linux system administration skills.
