Position Description: The fellow will work on a CDC-funded project related to factors underlying geographic disparities in diabetes incidence and prevalence under the direction of Dr. Leslie McClure, Professor & Chair, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Dornsife School of Public Health, and Dr. Nora Lee, Assistant Professor of Epidemiology. The project is a multi-site study, collaborating with researchers at Drexel University, the CDC, Johns Hopkins University, Geisinger Institute, New York University, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The fellow will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other faculty at the Dornsife School.

The central goal of the collaborative Diabetes LEAD Network is to inform policy through population-based research to reduce diabetes incidence and prevalence across diverse U.S. communities, and the team at Drexel coordinates the research across all the sites. The fellow will have the opportunity to lead the development and analyses of their own scientific questions, as well as to contribute to collaborative efforts across the Network. The fellow will have ample opportunities available for mentoring, interacting with collaborators, and career development. Financial support is available for travel to present results at scientific meetings and other academic expenses.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, or a related field, with strong quantitative skills and excellent communication skills. Experience integrating data from multiple sources and conducting spatial analyses is desired. A CV and personal statement indicating research goals and experience are required. Letters of recommendation are also required.
