Position Description: The Research Integrity and Compliance Office (RICRO) at Colorado State University (CSU) has an open position for a Senior IRB Coordinator. This position serves as the lead of CSU’s IRB social and behavioral research compliance program. This program serves the research interests of CSU for bioethics review of research and other essential compliance elements. This position requires a high degree of experience, knowledge, and skill and the ability to resolve complex and detailed problems related to social and behavioral research, especially research methodology related to recruitment of participants and risk minimization. Review Level determination is done independently. Qualifications: B.A. or B.S. degree and 5+ years of IRB experience including knowledge of historical and upcoming changes to 45 CFR 46, aka the Common Rule. Experience leading or supporting the review of complex, multi-stage research protocols, including those having collaborations among multiple institutions Proficiency with computer software packages (Microsoft Office Suite) including word processing and databases. CIP® certification (or equivalent) Excellent written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Experience interacting with a variety of individuals including faculty, administrators, government officials, colleagues, and support staff. Ability to work independently. Experience handling difficult situations effectively and collegially. Ability to maintain confidentiality about IRB committee and other bioethics committees’ matters.

Organization Description: The mission of the Research Integrity & Compliance Review Office (RICRO) is to protect the rights and the welfare of research participants, provide guidance on research integrity issues, promote the responsible conduct of research, and work with the university research review committees to ensure that research is conducted ethically and in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
